A question about : Manchester to South Africa flights

Hi,

I am flying Manchester to Durban 18 December, Durban to Cape Town 31 December and Cape Town back to Manchester 11 January 2016.

The cheapest prices I can find is Ј2250 for 2 adults, that is after searching through all relevant airlines and websites.

I realise there may not be a clear answer to this but are there any frequent flyers who think these prices will remain the same or is there a chance the price will drop.

My dates are not flexible. Any help and advice is greatly appreciated.

Regards,

John

  • Peak flights to SA are expensive at the best of times, SAA stopped flying from the UK to Cape Town so flights jumped in price. People book these flights as soon as they go on sale, BA is already selling on those dates at well over Ј3000 so I think you should buy now
  • OH and I are doing exactly the same dates as you, but from London, into Durban - driving to CP (God help us) and then CP to london. Its an expensive route if you want to go direct. If you dont mind a stop then the flights can get down to Ј900 with a reasonably short layover. Skyscanner is good. We are waiting until April to buy, optimistically waiting for a sale/voucher on the shorter more direct flights but if nothing comes up we will book a longer/more stopovers cheaper flight. Flying with saudi is very cheap - but your flying with saudi.
  • Sorry for delay in replying (work!). Thanks Alan and threellamas for your help and advice, I will look further into options today.

  • Have you looked at going from London? Sometimes it's considerably cheaper, easily enough to pay for a train/shuttle & hotel if necessary.
