A question about : LOA Guidance

Hi all,

Sorry, just another post from me (again)

I submitted my application for LOA two weeks ago and it was returned to me last Monday stating that I filled in the form wrong by putting my dads death in service in the wrong box.

I called the helpline I was told to call for guidance. Once lady told me to include the death in service in 11.3 and another advices me that I do not need to add it is a discretionary benefit.

I specifically informed them that my dad did not nominate anyone to receive the funds and CSP have already informed me it would form part of the estate for the executor/personal representative to distribute but their answers are still conflicting.

I eventually ended up sending a covering letter explaining that I had been given two bits of advice and I had submitted a form excluding the payment and included one with the payment and filled in the recommended box.

Has anyone experienced this and can shed some light?

Secondly, there is still the question of this surprise daughter of my dad's. I have put on the form I am the only child as I was able to get her details through long winded channels but she has not responded to my requests to go through the necessary channels to prove she is my dads child. I am aware that she has 6 months to contest the letters of administration, and it may be best to 'gift' her money rather than wait for her to prove our relation.

But can she try and state I tried to claim the money unlawfully? My plan was to put the funds in an administrators account and leave it there until 6 months has elapsed but can she try and do anything after this?

It would just be easier if she responded to me
