A question about : Links to Rafflecopter thread

When I get the rare chance to venture onto the main board, I notice a lot of comps that are not being linked into the Rafflecopter thread here: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/....php?t=5063132

WeAreGhosts works hard to maintain the thread and it is hardly used anymore.

Can I please ask for people who are not end date compers/regularly use the main board to please try to link to this thread when you see a daily rafflecopter?
I know not everyone has the time but if some of us can pitch in once in a while it will stop other members missing out on bigger comps like this one for a dining table and chairs. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/....php?t=5166378

• The poll has been running for a month now so I suppose it is up to Ghosty what she wants to do - either continue it or offer to pass it on to someone who is willing to take it over!
• Just replying as you've singled out a thread I posted. Given there's no consensus about the daily rafflecopted thread I don't think it's likely that I will be adding all rafflecopter comps I post to it, personally I don't think it's worth doing and it seems from that poll others agree.
  If people want to look for daily rafflecopters then I think the best thing to do is search the board for them and then bookmark. Seems easy enough to do.
• Sorry, this will be brief ... i have a relative in hospital who is in a very bad way, i don't have time to write what i really want to.
  1. i have asked several times whether anyone wants to take over. i have not had any offers yet. this is not because i don't want to maintain the thread, i do,, it's because i thought maybe someone who does most of the RC comps would be better placed to add links to the thread
  2. it is not 'easy' to find the daily rafflecopter comps when a) people don't put "daily" in the title or the post and b) most of the time you have to enter the comp to find out if it is a daily or not. i am not going to enter for carp that i don't want to find out if it is a daily.
  obviously people DO enter these comps.
  i am keeping the daily thread open because you can bet your life on it that there will be someone, whether it be in the next week or the next six months, will moan that there isn't a thread for daily rafflecopters.
  at the moment i am only looking at it once, maybe twice a week, so it isnt impacting on me very much, but it would be nice if the people that DO use it and DO want it would contribute to it sometimes.

  I don't use the daily rafflecopter thread, if I find a comp that I would want to enter daily I bookmark it and do so. I disagree that they're not easy to find - if you search the board for "rafflecopter" "gleam" etc regularly, then you will bring up any new listed and can just bookmark the ones you want to do.
  The poll suggests that the majority of board users are like me and don't use the thread, so I don't see a problem with the way I and others post comps. If people moan that you close the thread that shouldn't mean you keep it open if you don't want to - you can't please everyone all of the time (much as this thread was started to moan about me!). And of course anyone who wants to take it over could do so, but no-one has.
  All we can do on the comps board is generally go with the majority of compers' views and the MSE forum as hosts - not everyone will be 100% happy all of the time, but that's life really and there are other comp forums of course.
• The thread was started to partly moan about me (which is fine by the way) - the OP complained on a competition thread I posted too that I had posted in the wrong section. But whatever I don't mind, everyone is entitled to their opinion.
  I don't follow your argument though - I don't think it is hard to find the daily rafflecopter comps. The way I see it is - you enter the comp if you want to win the prize, and if it shows as daily entry, and you want to enter daily, you can do so. If people don't want to win the prize then they won't enter - so it doesn't matter if it is daily or not.
  I can't see how it matters if it's a rubbish comp or not - or if you see that there are daily entries available if it is the prize itself that is important. I'm not being obtuse - I just simply don't understand the argument. There aren't that many RC threads posted that a regular search won't pick up the ones you want to enter.
  The poll suggests that the reason people aren't adding links because the thread isn't a big priority to most posters. Obviously some people want it (the OP) but if the majority of posters don't add to it it's not going to work in the long run.
• Thank you WeAreGhosts. You said exactly what I was trying to say. I appreciate your reply and I wish you and your relative well. I support whatever you want to do. I was just trying to raise this issue because the rafflecopters often get ignored and thought we could turn it around.
• i just typed out a long reply, then deleted it cos I can't be arsed after reading the response to the thread linked in the OP, which suggests you didn't understand it in the first place and therefore I really cannot be bothered to simplify it further.
