A question about : Less than 12 weeks pregnant club! Part 4!!

This is a continuation of This thread which will be closed due to it's length.

It's a thread that came from the very different needs of early pregnancy and is the springboard for the main MSE pregnancy thread here...

I've taken some of the thread 'starters' from the main thread including the be careful notice below... Please let me know if there's more that should be on this opening post. ps thanks to Courgette for starting the original thread.

I was asleep by 10pm last night! Not a big new years eve fan anyway!
  • Oh no, I am not feeling terribly optimistic. I had what felt like period pains last night, and this evening I am getting some really sharp pains quite low down.
Still, I can only wait and see.
Fingers crossed for a sticky bean x
  • Big hugs anyname I'm sorry you feel so worried but really hoping its just stretching pains or trapped wind. I've had some similar pains and it seems so have a lot of others on here. I know I haven't been through as many mc as you but I do understand the constant need to knicker twitch and worry about every niggle and pain. I sincerely hope that this is your forever baby xx
  • Hi all. Hope everyone is ok.
Hugs to Anyname, fingers crossed it is sticky and it's just stretching pains.
AFM as of this evening I have had the feeling I am about to get my period and have started spotting/bleeding. I will call my midwife in the morning. I had a feeling this wouldn't end well due to my complete lack of symptoms but it doesn't make it any easier to deal with. I don't want to drag the thread down but I had to 'tell' someone as we have kept this pregnancy quiet. Unfortunately if this does now end as expected I wont be trying again. I am currently 11+5 and I am scared as to what may happen next.
Lots of love to all. X
  • Hugs girls.
Hope its nothing serious & everything is ok with you both.
Keep us posted & take it easy xx
  • oh claretsgirl, sorry to hear your worries, I am not sure as I have only been on this thread for a week, but have you had a scan yet? Some women don't experience the common symptoms at all during pregnancy, and again some women do have bleeding during a healthy pregnancy, so please don't panic. I will keep my fingers crossed for you. Please let us know what your midwife says tomorrow.
I have gone to bed. After a big turkey dinner (christmas dinner with OH dad) I had to change out of the jeans I have been wearing since yesterday and I realised they are actually quite tight around the waistband. We have been eating cooked breakfasts all week! But the pains have been a lot less since I changed, so hopefully I was just squeezing myself a bit, along with a bit of trapped wind.
I do feel absolutely exhausted though. We had a 17 hour journey up here in Saturday, and I have been running around doing all the cooking etc, including a Christmas dinner today, so I might have overdone it a bit! And my boobs are so sore it's just not funny!
  • claretsgirl - huge hugs first off! To try and ease your mind a bit, I had a bleed (as in a fairly large gush) at 6 weeks, and spotting at 9 and 11 weeks. Had a scan at 13 weeks, everything was fine and now I'm 16+2 and I've been feeling baby move for about a week and a half. I hope that everything works out well for you and I'll be thinking of you tomorrow.
  • Hugs claretsgirl I'm so sorry to hear that I hope the midwife can reassure you and maybe send you up for a scan. Biggest hugs xx
  • Big hugs claretsgirl I hope it turns out to be nothing. I've had quite a bit of spotting myself, some with what felt like period cramps, so I know how worrying it is. Have you tried calling your local EPU? I have called a few times and have found just having spoken to someone on the phone very reassuring as, while they were very kind and sympathetic, they were not concerned by my symptoms.
  • Hope you're ok claretsgirl, could you phone your EPU instead of having a sleepless and stressful night? Thinking of you x
  • claretsgirl I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. honestly if it was me I would be tempted to go to a&e either now or in the morning like Claire said. especially as you are quite close to your 12 week 'milestone'. it would save a sleepless night too? hope everything is okay xx
  • hugs to any name will suffice and claretsgirl. I was going to say the same as mrshappy and to phone epu as you will probably need a scan to re assure you. I would phone them first thing in the morning as it's them you will need to see.
  • Hey claretsgirl did you manage to get hold of anyone yet? Big hugs x
  • Hi ladies
Massive hugs for Anyname & Claretsgirl - really hoping to hear from you both soon and hope that any pains or bleeding have gone away. Did you get in touch with your local EPU or midwife?
Thinking of you both and hoping for positive news.

  • Hi ladies,
Happy new year, and congratulations and welcome to the new ladies who have joined in the last couple of weeks.
Claretsgirl - let us know how you're getting on. I'm keeping everything crossed for you.
I had my 12 week scan this morning, and all looks well. There's a growing baby with a head, body, arms, legs, and a beating heart. Baby looked like they were hiccuping! But the sonographer said they were drinking. I had an early scan (due to AWFUL pain) before Christmas when I was dated as 10+2. I should have been 12+5 today according to that early scan dating, but according to today's unofficial measurements the little bean is 13 weeks (maybe 13+1) today. So the little one is growing well!
As some of you will know, I have some chronic underlying medical problems which mean that I have an extremely high chance of m/c, and not carrying baby to term. So even after the 12/13 weeks mark I'm definitely not out of the woods yet, and I think we'll still keep the news pretty secret. But I'm trying to stay positive and happy that we've got this far.
I suppose I should move over to the next thread. I'll still be lurking here though, and catching up with all your news. I'm not the most prolific poster on here (mostly because my pregnancy is so risky and I'm so worried and don't want to bring the thread down with my hourly woes!), but I read every day and have found HUGE support on this thread. Thanks to all.
Good luck to all ladies on here. I hope your little beans are sticky ones, and your pregnancies are uneventful.
