A question about : Legal and General

Had a brick through my window (!) on 7/1/15, which also damaged a door. The same day an emergency company boarded it up.

Since then I have had to chase and chase to get it sorted.

Legal and general referred it to Innovation Group Services who surveyed it on 13/1/15.
Innovation referred it to Mitie who surveyed it on 22/1/15.
Mitie referred it to Elite Maintenance who surveyed it on 5/2/15.

Phoned Legal and General to complain and received a letter on 3/2/15 (at my insistence that complaint be noted) re -my security (OH works away and I am not happy with a bit of ply-board securing a front window), three separate companies appointed, and time frame, but they said there was nothing they could do.

Just had a phone call to say they will come out on 12/3/15. Three months after reporting it!

Three companies to get a window and door replaced. Three days off work for me to stay in for surveys.Three months to get repairs. Unbelievable.
No wonder insurance's are rising if we have to pay for four separate companies to do one job.title=Angry Will be looking for alternative insurance providers.

Best answers:

  • I would complain, & claim compensation for the delay / time of etc...
  • I would get it done myself as it's a security hazard and then claim it from L&G.
Of course going this route may mean a hellish job with paperwork and complaints. Start on their twitter feed....
