A question about : Leaking Roof in Block of Flats
Quite a bit of water coming through the communal stair roof in flats. Not sure if there is a roof tile/pointing or gutter problem.
I own my flat (middle landing) but of the 5 others, 3 are rented and 1 is currently empty.
Tenants are foreign and speak little/no English so I cannot get details of who they rent from. There is no factor.
Any suggestions as to what I can do. Whilst the water is only coming in on the landing above I do not want the roof damaged any further.
Anyone have any idea of how much someone would charge to come out and look at a 3 storey block of flats?
Best answers:
- Don't you have a property management company to carry out communal repairs? I thought all multi-occupancy properties did. Who tends to the gardens around the flats? Who decorates or maintains the communal hall/stairs/landings? Lighting in these area? Main entrance doors?
Somebody must have decorated them at one time, or changed the lightbulbs, or fixed front/back communal doors/windows. You need to find out who.
Hope this helps.
