A question about : Laptop Repair

Not sure if this is the best place to post but I bought laptop online in December direct from Lenovo. Within 2 weeks it wouldn't switch on and the tech support people determined that the hard drive was faulty.

I had the option to get a refund or a repair and opted for the repair. A week after I sent it back (to Germany) I received an email to say that the whole process could now take up to 15 working days. That was a week ago.

I'm now wondering if I should have just got a refund and bought another laptop from somewhere else.

Would I be entitled to contact lenovo now and request a refund or is it too late for that now I've agreed to a repair?

Best answers:

  • Just wait the 15 days and you'll have a fully working machine. If not, worry about it then.
  • I think it's just started to bother me because if I'd paused to think about it taking at least 2 weeks from when they received my laptop I probably would have opted for a refund instead because I'd have had a fully working laptop much sooner that way.
I phoned Lenovo yesterday and they said it should be completed by this Thursday and that I should receive an email today or tomorrow to confirm that it's ready to be shipped back to me.
I've decided to wait and see if that happens and if not, I'll ask for a refund.
I suppose my original question here was more about whether I'm entitled to ask for a refund at this stage, after having agreed to a repair but if it comes to it then I'll just ask Lenovo I guess.
