A question about : Kleeneeze or Betterware?

Hi, just wondering if anyone has had experience of either of these companies and would recommend?? what percentage you get? if you have to buy books etc?
Thanks

Best answers:

  • Betterware give you the books for free - though as for the % earnings, no idea sorry, but there are a few people on here who do betterware and do quite well from it.
Kleeneze - well I tried it the start of last year - and gave up after a few weeks. You have to buy the books, which is fine many companies have start up costs, but with not having a set territory, it was difficult for us to deliver/collect the brochures often enough to get enough orders to be worth submitting - there are delivery costs, a charge each month to order on the internet (they may have got rid of this by now perhaps?!), you have to buy order forms...it obviously works for some people but it didn't for us.
with any company they will be pros & cons, you need to work out all the costs involved in the companies you are interested in, so that you know how many orders you would realistically need to get before you will break even.
  • Hi I have done Kleeneze in the past, i think commission is around 21%, you have to pay to join and buy brochures, they usually say you need at least 100 to start although you can start with 50. You can build a team and up your earnings with Kleeneze and theres no territory.
Betterware is not your own biz in the way Kleeneze is, you have a coordinator who delivers the books to you, no joining fee and no fee for books. You are given a set territory, drop the books when you are told and hand orders to the coordinator who then delivers them to you to deliver. No team building.
  • i looked at both and tbh betterware is better - no outlay, designated area (kleeneze say that there is loads of room for everyone - not always the case!) 20% of takings for betterware with no sanctions shoudl you lose, ruin books etc.
i would suggest you try betterware (for free) rather than forking out loads for kleeneze but thats my opinon.
  • Both suck and post unwanted garbage at inflated prices in peoples homes
  • I'm asking the same question at the moment.
You get 20% off both of them. So I keep thinking I'd rather start up for free.
Its Ј7.50 per month to do your orders online with Kleeneze.
I'm not looking at building a team, just want some extra cash coming into the house. I'm leaning more towards betteware at the moment.
  • I did Kleeneze from Feb '09 - Feb '10 and eventually gave it up because I moved house and didn't want to have to start building up a new area again at the same time as trying to revise for my end of year exams at uni. I would recommend it to anybody who's serious about building a business, and would consider going back in the future.
I paid Ј134 to join and in my first 4 weeks earned Ј242.50 after expenses (not inc. the initial start-up cost). By the time I left, I worked between 12 - 15 hours a week and was earning between Ј800 and Ј900 (4 weekly) when I eventually quit. My expenses (national insurance, petrol, catalogues etc) came to about Ј100 a month on average, which still made my hourly rate more than Ј10 an hour.
You get 21% commission from anything you sell with Kleeneze but, unlike Betterware, there are also bonus' of up to an additional 24% available. (Note - the extra 24% is worked out using the actual price of the goods to kleeneze not the catalogue price if you know what I mean? Whereas the first 21% is 21% according to the catalogue price.)
If you sell more than Ј764 of goods in 4 weeks - very achievable (I did it in my first 4 weeks) then you get 10% bonus and usually some free catalogues and stuff as an incentive aswell.
There were some charges that my sponsor didn't tell me about, which you might be interested in knowing:
Ј7.50 a month for internet ordering (i'm quite sure you get 1 or 2 months free to start with). You can submit your orders by post/fax and there's no charge for this however delivery is more expensive as people who subscribe to internet ordering get free delivery if they order more than Ј250 worth of stuff (Ј150 during promos) and people who aren't subscribed pay for their deliveries.
Ј7.50 - Messaging service, completely optional but gives you a number you can give out to clients, possible new team members etc without having to give out your housephone number then you just collect your messages at your convenience. Also allows your upline to send you messages.
Ј15 per person for conference tickets (first conference free) - twice a year there's a conference at the NIA Birmingham and its completely optional but i've heard some sponsors can be quite pushy about attendance.
  • Some groups in kleeneze are very pushy, be careful
  • i dont buy from either as i find the prices are expensive for what they are and i have seen some of the exact same items in the catalogues in the Ј1 shop
  • I suppose its a choice between two rubbish companies, neither is wanted in most homes and both sell this dream that is a wonderful opportunity, when sadly it isnt the case
Oh and most of the goods can be bought at Wilkinsons, Home bargains or poundland for much less
  • I do Kleeneze part time round my full time job - nearly been doing it a year and if it wasn't for the lovely customers I have found and needing the money, I would jack it in. A hell of a lot of work for very little reward and the catalogues seem to change every 2 months, you have to buy them in order to keep up with all the other distributors in your area and the Ј7.50 really is a con. As is the delivery fee! When you order from Kiddicare.com, the online nursery store, they ship with Interlink Parcels and it is now free delivery when you place an order over Ј30. Kleeneze also use Interlink and yet I get charged Ј12.50 for an order under Ј100, then Ј6 for an order up to Ј250 (after which time shipping is free, as someone has mentioned in a previous post). I don't understand how they can justify all these fees! As for the team building, I started doing that but I get no money from my team until we make a combined profit of 10%, so we're all out there working our socks off and for what? Ј50 if I'm lucky, and that's if noone returns the goods, then you lose the commission that you've more than likely already spent!! Con-eze, my better half calls it!!
  • I was a Kleeneze distributor for about a year and I ended up owing them more money than I got in sales. There's a lot of walking involved, sometimes you have to return to the same area 3 times to collect your books and it's very rare you get them all back. There are no boundaries to where you can deliver and very often I would be leaving catalogues when there was already another one waiting for collection. It's very hit and miss. Oh and they say you can work with 100 books but in reality and to achieve the numbers they claim you really need more like 400.
  • I worked for 8 years with Kleeneze and to be honest really enjoyed the team spirit in our group but there are some really pushy distributors out there. Having said that it worked for me at a time when I needed it
Betterware is great in the fact that you don't pay a single penny out I found sales a little lower than Kleeneze though - having said that I only gave it a few weeks so not a fair comparison really.
I'm very interested in Wikaniko though - it's ticks all the boxes that I have been looking for - big range of products from cleaning to pets to make-up,(cosmetics always being the hardest to find that are chemical free)! and they're all eco friendly so will have a serious look at this business
    Jen
  • Hi Jenny, talking about team spirit, in Wikaniko we have a forum and all distributors help each other regardless of what team they are in and come up with ideas etc as the distributors are the Company and its like being a big family, we are all wanting to do our bit to help the Planet first and foremost and Wikaniko is a great vehicle to give people the opportunity to help people go greener by providing all the products in one place and the distributors can earn an extra income and build a big Business if thats what they want as well Very exciting.
  • My wife and I have been with Kleeneze for 8 years and we have built up a customer base of around 400 customers and a team of 20 odd distributors. We currently earn over Ј1000 every 4 weeks part time around my job. We love it as the team we are with are not pushy and most of them are now friends rather than business partners. I would thoroughly recomend it to anyone but find the right team and people to work with. People who fail generally have due to lack of support from the person who introduced them (the company are great), not following the recomended system or not given it enough time to develop. You will earn money from the start but it will grow over the initial 2 to 5 months as your customer base develops and if you decide to build a team. Running costs are approx Ј25-Ј35 per month, which you can take from your profits.
Currently, the company has an start up offer for 200 catalogues. It is down from Ј156 to Ј99, which is great value when the basic kit with 50 catalogues is Ј80.
Hope this helps. PM me if you need any more info.
  • We built a good customer base with Kleeneze but as we live in a village we had to travel to other towns to find enough customers and the toing and froing to collect brochures which weren't left out and do deliveries really ate into our profits.
