  Im getting married the 28th July and am in Hampshire.

  What have you done so far?
• Not done much really, we have the ceremony booked and the venue for our reception but thats all so far. I have loads of ideas and know mostly what I want but havent got round to actually booking anything else yet.
  How about you?
• So far only booked the venue.
  This month i plan on booking the DJ and photographer. Next month im going to a wedding fayre so im hoping ill get a good deal on a car if i like. Then i think thats the 'big' bits done for a bit!
• Im hoping to go to some wedding fayres over the next month or so- but more to get ideas than actually book things, I just cant decide which fayres to go to! We are on a tight budget so Im not sure how much we will have for a photographer so that may have to wait- Im hoping I can maybe get a good deal from someone starting out or something. I need to look into a dj but need to find someone who will play exactly what we want!
  Oh and one thing that is definate is my colour scheme- definately has to be pink!!
• We are spending a more then i wanted to on a photographer but we are having my friends uncle and he is doing us quite a good deal.
  I found a nice DJ again more then i was hoping to pay but i do really like him and we can give him a playlist - i think most do that now.
  I do love pink. im either having lilac or purple. My sister (MOH) thinks that purple will make my dress stand out more then lilac so havnt quite decided!
  I told OH that he has to wear a purple cravet, he was not happy OH doesnt do 'girly' colours
• Oh its good though that youve managed to get people that you really like.
  I think i just keep thinking I have so much time and its too early- when really it isnt and it will come round quickly. I think another thing is, is that the one thing Im so looking forward to is dress shopping, so maybe once Ive done that ill get myself more organised. I have spent a lot of time googling so I have so many ideas, i guess I should start emailing and getting quotes so then I can allocate my budget a bit better.
  Oh purple or lilac will be lovely- I think if I couldnt have pink I would have gone for purple. I think lilac or purple will look lovely- I would say go with whatever you really want. I want like a fushia pink as I do like the fact it will really show up against the ivory and when it comes to pink i think the more pink it is the better!!

  Im starting to get really excited about dress shopping. Ive already tried on one dress that im still in love with but feel its too early to buy it. Going dress shopping with my sister and friend (who is also my bridemaid) next month.
  I keep thinking that maybe im booking things too early but when ive been to wedding fayres i found most companys were getting bookings for 2012 even 2013 and July is busy months for weddings.
• I think now we are in 2011 it doesnt seem so far away, so am going to start gradually booking things and getting myself organised.
  I have no idea when Ill get my dress, Im hoping one of the local dress shops may have a sale soon- I do like getting a bargain, if not i just hope I can get a nice dress within my small budget! I have no idea what style I want, I look at wedding dresses and seem to love most of them, will be interesting to see what dress I end up with!!
  Ive also been getting ideas for my hen night/ weekend!!!

• Well I thought of a few things I like the idea of so will cost them up and then put my sister in charge of organising it. I like the idea of knowing where im going but having a few suprises!! I have been on a hen weekend in centre parcs and that was great (gave a good balance of pamper, giggles and dancing) so thats on my maybe list, my sister has a few places she thinks will be good. And im sure ill come up with a few more ideas- thats the only bad thing about having so much time, it gives me time to chop and change my mind!! If I have a weekend away I would also want a night out locally as I apprieciate some people cant come away.
  What ideas have you got?
• Pretty much the same as you Im thinking maybe a spa weekend with my closest friends, mum and sister. I also thinking of going to bingo() then night out after.

• Oooh just found this thread! I'm getting married 21st July 2012 as well, in Blackpool. I've booked and paid deposit for venue and dress, and bought favours but thats about it so far lol!! Really need to look at photographers but they are so expensive lol!!!Ive been to 2 wedding fairs and they were so good!! Got a big 1 in 2 weeks so hoping to strike a deal lol

  I love going to wedding fayres, ive also got a big one in 3weeks and im hoping to book the car.
  I found photographers expensive as well, see if you could get a good deal at the wedding fayre.
• Ive only been to 1 wedding fayre so far and it wasnt a very good one so it has put me off a bit- there is a big one near me in Feb (well theres 2 that i think will be good but are typically on the same day and I cant decide which one to go to!!).

• Thanks ladies. I can't wait til the wedding fair next week. Wedding plans were put on hold a little in the run up to xmas lol. Pinkprincess, don't let the 1 bad one put you off!! I must admit, the 1st one I went to, they were a bit pushy, and reminded me of those posh shops were they keep asking what you're looking for, if you need any help etc, but the 2nd was great!! The one next week is in the Hilton so am hoping this will be a good one!! May also have found a photographer as well, iconic moments. Someone posted the link on Bounty website and looks quite a good deal, although need to see some photos as the ones on the site seem ok, but really want them perfect lol!! What kind of budgets do you have? Mine keeps going up lol, am at about Ј8k now, but thats inc honeymoon
• aww pinkprincess sorry you didnt enjoy your first wedding fayre i would def go again. I did find lots of people were pushing to get in front of you at the stands but it made me feel even more excited!!
  We got our wedding photographer coming round on Saturday so we can pay the deposit by cash (so we don't have to pay VAT!) and to look through his albums again and confirm everything.
  To be honest we havnt really done a budget yet, seen my sisters and hers was Ј7000 but she isnt having a car and spending less on a photographer. Ours will prob be between 8-10k.
• I will be going to another one- i havent let it put me off, it was just in a small location with too many companies and people for the space- and also it seemed to be the most expensive and extravagant companies there, but roll on the ones in Feb!!

  Our budget is quite a bit smaller than yours, but i like a good bargain hunt!! And thats one good thing about having plenty of time, gives me plenty of time to shop around and find the best price!!
