What's the deal?

nPower's been selling Rockwool Loft Insulation, for Ј1 per roll (usually Ј5ish) inc delivery. The promotion ended but we managed to persuade it to restart it with a further 10,000 rolls. Don't worry you don't need to be an nPower customer; the offer's available nationwide, to everyone.

How do I get them?

Update 9 Dec 2pm: The nPower site is struggling under demand at the moment, so be patient. Alternatively find your nearest Build Centre (see link below) and ring direct or ring the 0845 number below.

By phone call 0845 270 8250 (though its often quicker to call your local branch below)
In participating Build Center branches (use the Build Center branchfinder to find your nearest)
How much do I need?

Use Build Center's calculator first to work out how much you'll need. Find the info on the nPower website. If you have any unused rolls you can return them to Build Center and you'll be refunded at the Ј1 per roll price you paid.

When does the offer end?

The offer's for 10,000 rolls. While it's very unlikely, if the 10,000 haven't gone already it'll end at 4pm Friday (11 December).

Anything else?

Your order will need to be to your residential address and it's one order per property, up to a maximum of 100m2 per household. The offer's available for delivery to houses in mainland Great Britain and you have to be a homeowner or rent from a landlord.

nPower's said the Build Center aims to get all insulation delivered to customers by 31 January.

If you order to collect your insulation at a Build Center store, if it does have stock available, you may be able to collect it immediately, but this isn't guaranteed.

• Checked this offer out before 9am this morning and they are saying the Ј1 offer has already gone....and are offering 2 for 1 instead was anyone able to get the insulation?
• Wasn't looking forward to forking out over Ј100 for our insulation and now managed to get 25 170mm rolls for Ј25.01!!!!! Excellent deal!!! Just hope the don't charge me hidden delivery/handling cost due to size of order!!!

• Might have to try that then though at moment i can't even use the branch finder to get a number for local branch! Might have to go the yellow pages route then! Once an offer goes in MSE newsletter it's dead in the water!! Probably cost me a couple of rolls worth of insulation just trying to get through..keep going to same full voicemail box.
• Definitely ring the local branch, no luck with phone or internet. Find your local branch by typing buil center then location (ie. build center bristol) into google. They will still deliver at Ј1 per roll. Absolute bargain!
• Agree with what others are saying, don't waste your time with the website or the 0845 number! Just rang the local branch and sorted it within minutes
• No luck with local centre myself - just tried Leeds but nobody's answering the phone. Must be pretty busy with the MSE newsletter advert. Will try again this avo.

  Local branch was aware of the offer but not got in stock until tomorrow. Have placed my order for 9x 100mm rolls which is all i need to go under the 170mm waiting for laying ...glad i didn't lay it yet! They expect my delivery to be by the end of the week and will call back to arrange delivery once in stock. My existing insulation between joists is at about 50-75mm at moment ..so in all i'll have 320-345mm of insulation. Be interesting to see the difference to the gas bill.
• I got through on the internet at 9am, no worries. My order came to Ј42.02 and I'm delighted. I have a drafty old edwardian end terrace bought last year and didn't think I'd be able to afford to get the loft insulated for a couple of years.
  I don't know when it will be delivered though it says before 31st January.
  Was I one of the lucky ones?
• Nice tip, rang the local branch, ordered 15 x 170mm's. I think that will be enough, hard to work it out. They are very busy with orders he said, its closed their website down. He reckons delivery will be likely to be middle of January, which will suit me fine as i got to stash it somewhere. Not sure why peoples orders are .01 and .02. Mine was 15 rolls = Ј15.
