Great spot! Discount supermarket Farmfoods is currently selling 2 litre bottles of whole and semi skimmed milk for Ј1. If you don't know where your nearest store is then enter your postcode into the Farmfoods store finder and it'll give you the address and a map.

Alternatively if you're a Cravendale junkie then Sainsburys has its 4 pint bottles (whole, semi and semi-skimmed) on offer. They are normally Ј1.56 each, but buy two and you get 82p off, making it Ј1.15 per 4 pint bottle (Ј2.30 in total).

Plus, don't forget there's a coupon available to pick up a free litre of Candia long life milk from Sainsburys or Somerfield. For more info read the in the Supermarket Coupons Deals note.

Best answers:

  • you can also use food tokens in farmfoods aswell.
  • Sainsburys is doing their 4 pint 1% milk for Ј1 as well
  • Actually Farm Food is doing 2ltr bottles for Ј1 which is not actually 4pts. If you look at bottles at other supermarkets you will find they have more in them. Not being a smart !!!!, just that I fell for it too!!
  • Liddl has a similar offer: two 4-pint bottles of normal or semi-skimmed milk for 2 quid. (Yes, they are 4-pint bottles, not 2-litre ones.)
  • For everyone's information, 4 pints = 2.272 litres. 2 litres = 3.521 pints. So the cheapest is Sainsbury's 1% - but there are usually not many on the shelf, and then Liddl if you buy 2 bottles before Farmfoods.
Iceland used to sell them at Ј1 for 4 pints but it has now gone up 3 times since to Ј1.25 though occasionally they have the same 2 bottles for Ј2 offer.
  • The Co-op quite regularly sell the 1% milk at 99p. As you might expect the shelf is usually bare but I have managed to get quite a few over the months.
  • 1 and 2% fat is that or milk? is the 4 pints 2% or 1 % or the 2 litres 1 or 2%
  • Agree with those saying that 2 litres is less than 4 pints.
  • I got 2 x 4pint (2.272 ltrs) Semi Skimmed Milk for Ј1 at Netto
  • Just in case someone doesn't know you can freeze semi skimmed milk and it is fine when thawed.
  • This is a really good deal, thanks
  • Tesco are doing 'The One' milk 2 litres for Ј1........there is no offer sign and i have been buying it for the past month so not sure if it is an offer but its a bargain!!!
  • Hi guys
im forever on the search for cheaper milk as my son and husband drink 6 pints plus per day between them!! honest, my son does'nt really drink juice or pop much and has always drunk between 4 and 6 pints per day on his own bless him, he's nearly six now and im not complaining as i think pop is loaded with crap anyway, but add that to the couple of pints hubby drinks because he does'nt drink tea or coffee etc and then add a couple of pints for cereals and hot drinks for myself and my elder daughter and we have to buy 8 pints per day at least, nightmare price wise i can tell you.
All the supermarkets do the Ј1 milk offers for a short while but ive been paying between 93p and 97p for a 4 pint bottle for a while now from a local asian run minimart, we worked out by getting it from there we saved an average of Ј40 per month which is crazy but true.
So, check out your small local business shops, mini markets etc and see if there is one near you especially if like us you use a lot of milk, also the fruit and veg stall in my local market sells the 4 pint bottles of semi skimmed for Ј1.
Thanks for the freezing milk tip too as i was'nt aware of that, does anyone know how long its viable to freeze it for before it affects the quality/taste?
    thanks
    kind regards
    Linda
