A question about : Is it a scam

On the advice of a friend last night, I bought 4 tickets for take that on blcevents. It was SO easy, I started to wonder if it was legit especially after the payment went to euros and was taken that way. I did a search and sadly they didn't come up on the safeticket site.

I'm REALLY scared now, as I stupdily paid 90 for each ticket on my debit card (don't have a credit card) so am out of pocket 370+.....
I did call the bank and they said that I need to call the retailer to try and claim the money back.

Any other tips that I can get the money back....or has anyone bought tickets with this company (based in Malaga!). I'm kicking myself as I normally as a rule research before I buy, but was rushing to buy them last night...

Please help.... title=Frown
Thanks..

  • Hey, did you pay with a visa debit card?? If so call the bank and tell then you want to do a charge back. Don't get fobbed off either the monkey you speak to in the call centre may not have heard of it.

  • Hi just to let you know I have been on the forum mentioned above (safeconcerts.com) and we've been having a long discussion about all this. To cut a long story short, on Friday took out Ј1600 from my bank account for an order of 6 tickets! I was obviously having a very stressful day after that, but after lots of e-mails and phone calls to my bank and to BLC, I eventually got a phone call from BLC and they have refunded most of my money. I have called them and told them that they are getting bad press and I don't trust them now so want a refund for all of my money and they have said yes. Considering they refunded some of my money this morning , I'm feeling hopeful that I will get my money back. If you are having trouble getting through on the phone number given on their website, I was given a direct line number in to their accounts department and have got through straight away everytime I have tried. So try this number: 020 8090 2372.
I don't know why they are agreeing to the refunds because it says in their terms and conditions that once you have bought tickets under no circumstances do you get a refund. Maybe it's all this bad press they are getting. I don't really care - all I want is my money back.
Good luck to anyone having problems with this site. Don't give up!
  • PS: If you do a search on Google for "Chargeback" all the details of it will come up and you can have a read through. Personally I think you should ring BLC first and insist on a refund. They seem to be giving them at the moment with no problems and as I mentioned before, I have already seen some of my money back in my account.
  • I contacted BLC yesterday and spoke to a very nervous chap in the accounts department, he says my money will be refunded in next 2/3 days. We'll see!!
  • I almost brought tickets from blc but didnt go through with the payment when it change from pounds to euro, i returned to blc evens home page 2 find a messages saying that my payment had failed and that some one from the accounts team would call me 2 collect payment, But when checking my hotmail i had a confirmation from blc for my tickets, thinking something was not right i went straight 2 the bank and put a stop on my card has the money had not been taken so got lucky.
2day i got a call from an english speaking lady who said she was from blc and that she was going 2 put me through 2 the accounts department 4 the payment of my tickets, when i told her that i did not want 2 go ahead cause i heard that blc was a fake site her response was Ive heard a lot of this over the last couple of days and hung up on me, when i called the number back the lady was speaking in spanish. I for one am very confused.
  • hi , my wife got me to buy her 2 tickets from this company , they sent me an email charging me Ј170 in uk sterling , they took Ј175.25 from my credit card. i emailed them and told them to cancel my tickets , at the same time i contacted my credit card provider and asked them to help me cancel the transaction .this was mainly due to the bad press and the web site only registered for 1 year. anyway they emailed me today and informed me that they have returned the full amount they took from my card and i should have it within 3 to 5 days , here's hoping .
anyone like me who is not happy should email them , phone them and get them to cancel for a full refund but also contact your card provider and ask them for help
    i hope this helps, papabear
  • Hi all,
Just wanted to let you know that i too bought tickets from this company, and they not only deducted the wrong amount from my account (more than they should have) but they are now refusing to respond to my request for a refund.
I have been advised by Consumer Direct ( 08454 040 506 ) to write to them at their London address and request for a full refund within 14 days. They have broken the law, and are in breach of contract.
I have also spoken to Action Fraud - 0300 123 2040 who advised me to first speak to Consumer Direct before calling them back, and they will then contact the POLICE.
I strongly advise all to stay well away from this company.
  • Thanks for all those tips, I'm going to get onto it right away. I spent a few visits in with the bank, but until I could prove to their fraud department that it was a fraudelent site, they would not do anything! I received a confirmation email from BLC, and I too had more money taken out of my account due to the exchange rate. Hopefully it's not all to late now to do anything about it!!
    Thanks!
  • Hi, Just come across this forum and regret to now find out the Enrique Iglesias tickets I purchased for Ј200 each, in October 2010 may be part of a scam. Tried to contact BLC London office and I get a message saying that I am unable to dial internationally, although I can ring my friend in Germany. I am now very worried
Any one got any advice please
  • Just seen this post and now very worried about our take that tickets we ordered from them............are they a scam , have tried to reach them by telephone with no luck.
    So gutted
  • Not many banks will treat this as fraud, you've willingly given your card details to buy tickets. The only chargeback right in this case will be for non receipt of tickets which can only be actioned after the date of the event.
  • its not just the money i really was looking forward to going , has anyone got their tickets
  • Hi - i have just had an email to say that i have to claim the money back as i am not going to get tickets - cant believe it as paid with my debit card & they were what i thought were VIP tickets as got them for my 40th bday.
Cant believe that i am not going to be able to see robbie!!
Looks like i am going to have a busy day tomoz sortin this.
  • mandhull we got an email to say they couldnt supply us with the tickets and to do a charge back as paid with debit card, phoned bank and say said it was over 180 days and couldnt do it, we then worked at the days as 161 and phoned the bank again spoke to someone else and said we could do a charge back(muppets) so we are now awaiting our money so quite pleased, but still gutted i wont be going.
  • Thanks for that landybabe - seem be going around in circles here. I shall try & sort that with my bank tomorrow - they will probably try & fob me off.
Fingers x - still cant believe i am not gonna see them.
