A question about : Informing creditors about new address

Hi

I have all debts in Ireland. Do I have to inform creditors about my Uk address? How long before bankruptcy do I inform them? I have an appointment in court on the 19,02,2015 but just realized that not all of my creditors were informed about my address change.
Can judge ask me for any proof of correspondence( post slips, copy of letters, etc.?) Thanks

Best answers:

  • Its up to the OR to inform your creditors so I wouldn't worry about it. You will have put all the creditors details on your BR forms. OR usually only wants bank statements etc from you.
  • I understand that OR will inform all my creditors about my bankruptcy, but the question is, if I have to inform my creditors about address change. I relocated from Ireland to UK about 1,5 years ago, therefore my creditors don't have my current address.
  • TBH I really don't think it matters now - if you do it now it doesn't change the fact you didn't tell them at the time. Most debt collectors are pretty good a tracking folk down anyway.
