A question about : Important Changes to ASDA Employment

Hi, I am new to MSE, but I just want you all to know about a major change to T & C's at ASDA that will affect all employees!

Basically it is apparently the new conditions that all ASDA staff in the UK are required to work 1 day of every weekend starting in November regardless of their current contracts. This has not been communicated yet to employees and will seriously affect the family environment for all employees.

I only found out about this due the Home And Leisure Manager at the Hollingbury Store in Brighton, taking some people aside to let them know (he said keep it quiet). But to be honest, this will seriously affect our family and I am not sure how legal it is to enforce it.

Can they really enforce additional hours on employees without consent?

I think all ASDA employees should be aware of this nationwide change to their terms and conditions.
