A question about : Immediate(?) Pension, why it's increasing

I'm trying to understand why an armed forces pension is increasing, apparently with inflation, when the AFPS75 scheme booklet appears to suggest that it is an Immediate Pension and that these are not inflation linked.

The individual joined at 16, left after approximately 24 years as a senior navy NCO, so I assume at least 22 years reconable service, and that was checked at the time, so no need to worry about missing critical dates. End of service was in 2005 so I suppose a transfer to AFPS05 is possible if it would explain what's happening.

No apparent physical injuries, nor do I have any reason to believe there are others. A fair bit of submarine service so I suppose it's possible for something related to activities there to be a factor. From the look of it an ill-health pension would be index-linked after leaving the service but I know of no reason for one to be paid.

Any guesses as to what the cause of the index linking is?

A related question, what happens to these pensions when the person is abroad, is index-linking supposed to happen, either for whatever is happening here or from age 55? Any issues with use of things like UK bank accounts to pretend to be in the UK when really abroad?
