A question about : I Work in Payroll...

..and had a two hour briefing on AE today. Crikey the government are really making this difficult for everyone. i don't even know if i will opt out or not.

• Maybe your company are making it more difficult than it needs to be. What is confusing you?
• I absolutely agree that the complexity of the legislation is ridiculous. I work for a company that staged in February 2013 and raised many questions to the regulator that they hadn't thought of. I have loads of fun trying to explain to our poor employees how their deductions have been calculated.....ie based on band earnings of XX pro rata, but because they are hourly paid it works on a pay reference period that bears no relation to their pay frequency.....
  I particularly find the adverts irritating - they seem to imply that if the employee does nothing they will be able to afford many luxuries in life - and all on the government minimum required contribution of 1% - albeit should increase in 3 years time!
• The administration burden is an absolute nightmare!
