A question about : I wish you could sue smokers!

Hi,
A major vent from me, I am an ex smoker, gave up in June 2006 and I am so glad that all the new laws have come in but I don't think it goes far enough.
I am totally fed up of walking along and some smoker standing there having a cig then blowing the smoke right into my face as I pass them or am stuck walking behind or they are walking towards me, why should I have smoke blown towards me or even in my direction to have to inhale?!!??
I choose not to smoke, they choose to smoke so I don't think I should be forced to!

Grrrr title=Mad

Best answers:

  • Imagine how everyone felt when you smoked
  • I had a really annoying experience with a smoker in a bus shelter recently. I was stood with my younger brother (8 years old) and a lady was smoking in it, i asked her to move outside the bus shelter whilst she finished her cigarette and got back aload of abuse! I didn't want a confrontation or my brother to listen to language like that so we ended up standing outside the shelter! I have no problem with people smoking but some smokers really need to be a little more considerate. I can't stand the smell of smoke and there is nothing worse than being behind a smoker when its windy - gross!! I don't think they realise just how horrid some people find it.
  • Theres nothing more annoying that an ex-smoker whingeing about other people who smoke.
  • There's nothing more annoying than a whinger...........
  • I'd imagine lung cancer is probably more annoying than a whinger.....
  • They get in the way of my smoke and tut if I so much as breathe out when walking in front. No matter where I sit to have a fag they sit where the smoke's going!
  • I agree with Colliefrog, in addition the reason there is so many smokers outside is because we can't smoke inside anymore.
  • Just be grateful you don't live in Amsterdam! You might just get a little high too man.
I heard them discussing it on Clive Bull (LBC). If you want to smoke pure marijuana you can stay inside the coffee shop. If you want to mix it with tobacco, because of the smoking ban you have to go outside!
  • jesus, could you imagine being married to the OP,what a miserable moaning git,
you and your like forced us to smoke outside if you dont like stay indoors
  • like what barney1979 said, thats how every1 else felt when you blew smoke in others faces, why you growling??
  • I have to say that I completely object to inhaling other peoples smoke - it can be near impossible avoiding it whilst walking down the street.
If it were up to me I'd ban smoking to peoples private homes/designated smoking shelters or rooms.
Before all the smokers get mad please bear this in mind - if you want to pollute your body and dramatically increase your risk of cancer then so be it - it's your body and do what you will with it.
However, I choose NOT TO SMOKE and I also have the right to do what I want with my body - which involves NOT PASSIVE SMOKING.
ps - I have never tried smoking as I think its pointless and stupid.
EDIT - as an aside my own personal rant is aimed at my neighbours who don't smoke in their flats but stand outside and then leave their cigarettes on the ground. The entrance to my close is a disgrace - littered with cigarette butts which I think is disgusting.
  • Pretty tough that the big outdoors belongs to smokers now!
  • I love it now when the non smokers come out to the beer garden and sit near me,I dash indoors and buy the biggest cigar I can find then when they whinge I just say,its your fault you didnt want us smoking indoors youve got your way now go inside and smell the loo's and stale beer
oohh and dont I just love it when they wave their bloomin hands about as if being attacked by wasps
  • yep damn right you lot pushed us outside so tuff luck, lets not get on the passive smoking risk cobblers,
and at least the smoke covers up the ruddy awfull perfume some women bathe in
  • There is nought as pure as a reformed wh*re! lol
  • I wish you could sue smokers too! A smoker killed my dog, raped my wife and stole all my money, but obviously I could not sue him because he was a 'smoker'. I just do not understand why these 'smokers' are immune from being sued, but well might as well join them I am going down to the local garage to buy a packet of Benson and Hedges and a lighter (lol the fools don't realise I will rob them as soon as I gain legal protection by inhaling).
