How to use coconut oil on curly hair

I've just started using this instead of conditioner in the shower, is this the best way to use it, my hair definitely feels much stronger after only a few weeks but it seems hard to know how much to use, sometimes I feel like it's not enough so I put a bit more on and it seems really greasy.

• I have never used it as you described. I tend to use it as a treatment on dry hair and literally cover my hair from roots to tip and leave it several hours or even over night them wash it out ( I shampoo twice to make sure its out.)
