A question about : How to trace an internet company TSL Clothing?

Hi
My daughter has a debit card and on her recent statement is a small amount paid to TSL Clothing Welwyn, but we dont know who this company is and cant recall buying anything. Feeling very anxious!
The bank are unhelpful and said 'the transaction was undertaken on a secure e commerce site...However I have googled the company and cant find them. and have no recourse against the retailer.
Any suggestions/help?
thanks

  • I googled and TSL is also an abbreviation for Tesco Stores Limited. Could she have bought something from tesco clothing section/site?
I checked my statement the other day and coudn't remember what half my purchases were so logged on to ebay and saw loads I'd forgotten about, it's easy to forget lol.
  • Thanks - Much appreciated
  • Thanks from me too. I had been puzzling over a credit card entry and now know what it was for. Why don't they make it clearer on statements?!! CP
  • Thanks for that!!! Thought i had been 'had' again!!
  • Pheeew, I was also reaching for the phone sweating 'fraud' Especially when I saw there was a discussion about it on mse as I find out about most scams on here :-) feel really silly now!! glad it's just Tesco!!!
  • Thanks for this post, i too was thinking i dont know this company and then found this and realised i had spent money at Tesco
    thanks

  • I've just been querying a bunch of transactions on my account under TSL Clothing too.
It seems Tesco have two payment references as I also have Tesco Stores as a reference on my account.
They have taken money out of my account which they shouldn't have and I am in the process of disputing this. So just to say, make sure you tally up any payments to receipts you have for items purchased - mine don't add up, yours may not either.
  • i too found an unexplained entry on my statement. mine was a card payment to tsl clothing. the transaction was made on 21 june. how am i supposed to know what that was. it turned out it was my daughters school uniform order. why it had to take six weeks to show up on my account i do not know. at least its not fraud.
  • Thanks found this discussion and stop panicking!
  • Phew! I just found the same entry on my debit card and thought I had been scammed! Of course I bought some stuff for that amount from tesco :-p
  • Ditto.
Shows the usefulness of Google and MSE!!
  • I am now concerned because I have 2 transactions for the same amount on my account , 1 under tesco and 1 under tsl , looks like I have been charged twice.
  • I have just checked my bank account and have a transaction from tsl, but not for the amount I have spent online which has already been taken from my account but is not yet showing up on my statement. But it seems as if this new amount has been taken from my account as well... will try and ring tesco tomorrow, but wondering what is going on...
  • Is it a small amount? (e.g. Ј1.00). Did you use a card that you'd not previously used with Tesco? If yes then it could be a "test" payment to validate the authenticity of the card.
  • Did you use it for petrol? I've seen mention of Ј1 being reserved (not taken) at the start of a pay at pump transaction, although this will drop off without you needing to do anything.
  • Yet again MSE comes to the rescue!
I'm a bit confused though as I've had two small payments come out that add up to Ј3, but the amount that should have come out was Ј4. (not bad for two pairs of shoes, all hail vouchers)
  • I just got nailed with a fraudulent credit card charge from TSL Clothing. It's definitely fraudulent, so if you've had such an unauthorized charge contact your credit card company immediately. The charge was dated November 24, 2014. I know nothing about the company, which may be perfectly legit. But someone is using their name to gain unauthorized access to credit card accounts.
  • I got an unauthorized charge to my credit card from TSL Clothing on November 24, 2014. I immediately canceled the credit card. It's a scam to gain access to your account. See my post above. I'm in the U.S., not in Britain, FYI. And it was charged to my U.S. credit card.
