  • Wow, was about to point out this link was broken, suddenly it's working! However the link above takes you to the summer quiz. Still it's progress I guess.....
I only got 42% which is good considering some people might consider me tight, I don't think I am. I don't think some of the questions identify "tightness" though, I do some things for environmental reasons rather than saving money (of course being green is often saves money). Flushing the toilet is probably has more environmental benefits than financial.
  • This quiz doesn't discriminate sufficiently. I am tight with MYSELF (reuse teabags) but aim to be generous with OTHERS (would never skimp on a present - although I have no problems with re-gifting if I think the recipient would like the gift. In fact, surely giving away all you possess is supposed to be a good thing???)
  • nice 50% the perfect frugal balance
  • I got 49% but it should have been higher as there were 7 questions in the quiz that were not applicable to me, I dont drink tea or coffee, I dont have kids etc
  • Last question concerned; I don't go hunting for till receipt. Even better there's often loads of free food in supermarket bins.
  • 48%, which seems about right. I'm careful, but no scrooge.
It's news to me that some people re-use teabags though. I mean...why?
  • Only 48% for me
  • it wont let me click on 'I've finished'.
  • What this tongue-in-cheek survey fails to discriminate for me is between those who are graciously and humbly managing with restricted means and those who have crossed into some grey hinterland where moral and ethical responsibilities are of a lesser import than saving money. Searching through public bins to steal another's points or refuse? Surely not a desirable trait!
  • Apparently I could tighten my belt a bit.....not if it means not putting my fair share down in a restaurant or not tipping enough. That would just be being horrible and probably losing friends!
  • 44% Iwas really dissappointed, I will try harder.
  • I got:
    You are 48% tight
"You're frugal, you're thrifty, but on this site that's a little bit fab."
There were things I wouldn't do, like haggling in a charity shop or stiffing friends by splitting the bill wrong and things I don't think anything of like stalking the price reducing guy round the supermarket to get the best bargain, rescuing something from a skip or regifting carefully. I guess I draw the line at affecting anyone else.
  • I'm 19% tight. Sorry, but I refuse to rifle through bins for receipts, take things from skips or refuse to get my round in. There's moneysaving, and there's being a skank.
  • It's not working again
  • ... ooh dear, only 59% so must try harder. There were some "dark side" ideas in the quiz that I hadn't thought of before .
