A question about : how much water have I used?
anyone help please.
just moved into a new flat, first time with a water meter, I thought the HA had set up the bill so I have no start reading.
When I ring to set up the account on Monday will they ask for a start reading or will they have one already?if not what will happen? should I guess the start reading? if so I've been in a month, one shower a day and 2 loads of washing a week, the toilet is duel flush, just me, so if the reading is 109.90 today what would a reasonable start reading be, in case I have to guess a start reading or to know their figure is reasonable.
Best answers:
- The industry average is about 55cu.m per person per year which is about 1 cu.m a week.
There are two of us at home all day and our average is about 70cu.m/year for the two of us = 0.7cum week/person so a rough estimate of 3-4 cu.m a month won't be very far wide of the mark. - cheers for that...so if I say I used 4cu.m a month and todays reading is 109.90,would that make the start reading a month ago 105.90?
- Would someone not have the moving out reading from the last tenant.....
- If you live on your own you should ask about the 'so-lo' (or so-low) tariff. My husband and I was advised to change to that tariff when my daughter moved out. We pay Ј17 a month but I'm not sure how much in credit we are.
