A question about : How long should it take for a refund?
My husband has just cancelled his car insurance policy and asked for a refund. He was'nt happy about some charges on the policy that they agreed to refund but never did.
It was an expensive policy as it has our 17 year old daughter on as a learner driver, so I'm worried were going to struggle to get it back from them.
He originally paid on his credit card. My question is under consumer law is there a maxium length of time allowed for refunds to be made?
Best answers:
- In my experiences refunds from cards can take upto about 7 days and that is to do with the banking side of things not them doing the actual refund. not sure about the answer your looking for - sorry
- There is a maximum length of time. Can remember how long exactly but its def less than 31 days I think its 14 but I am guessing ask trading standards or check the leaflet you got with policy it may tell you which code they follow and who regulates them ( who to complain to)
