A question about : How to fix seashells to a lge bathroom mirror, help please
I have a large square mirror that is firmly glued on my bathroom wall, the mirroring along the top edge is deteriorating and as I am about to redecorate with a beach theme. I thought I could glue seashells on the mirror all the way around to give it a border, but I think it's going to be extremely difficult with not lying flat. Anybody any ideas, or maybe not use seashells and use something else to decorate with a beach seaside theme. Thanks for any advice given.
Best answers:
- As a child we used to spend hours making jewellery boxes by sticking shells in putty, maybe putty would work.
- Would maybe a hot glue gun work - as its not runny you could put the glue on the back of the shell and onto the mirror frame?
- Polyfiller mixed with PVA glue perhaps? Tile cement?
- Well I've bought the seashells at Dunelm today. Thanks everyone, I think I'm just worried I'm going to have to stand forever holding a shell in place on the mirror until it sets.
- Try a glue gel, something like the clear silicon sealer you can get in large tubes for glass, BUT ensure there is plenty of fresh air whilst using it!!
