A question about : How far in advance to book car hire?

I'm planning to book a 5+2 seater for Alicante on October.

I thought the price would be cheaper the longer in advance I made the booking however prices before the summer seem to be a lot cheaper than after the summer.

Anyone know how long in advance is the best time to book car hire? I'm worried if I leave it in the hope they will come down the prices will rocket.

  • I usually book the cheapest I can find in advance that has free cancellation (make sure you check the cancellation conditions), then check again nearer the time to see if I can find a cheaper one.
