A question about : how do make sure i am covered?
I have just tonight booked a holiday to gran canaria, i have booked the flights and hotel separately.
hopefully im worrying about nothing as i dont leave for 7 weeks but in the event of this volcano cancelling my flights, i know i could get a refund for the flights from the airline but how would i stand with the accommodation if i couldn't go. Would it be covered by travel insurance or would i lose my money?
Thanks

- Reading your travel insurance policy document would be the first thing to do.
- Hi
Last year we booked a villa in Lanzarote and flights seperately and the holiday was cancelled because of the ash. We got our money back for the flights but not for the villa as we had to pay by cheque for that. The insurance company refused to pay out for the villa and we put it in the hands of the Ombudsman and we are still trying to get our money back.
