A question about : How can I buy premiership football/Arsenal tickets?

Hi..I'm probably going to sound really thick here...but hopeful that someone can help me please

I want to buy tickets to an Arsenal match as a present for my husband ...the trouble is I'm not a club member (and I don't know anything about football!)

Is there any other way of buying tickets?

I've found websites such as first4football tickets, ticket4football etc....has anyone got any experience of using these or similar ticket agencies?

If I do buy tickets...where is the best place to sit? Sorry if I sound silly...but ve never been to a match!...is it best to sit behind the goal? Or somewhere else (I've noticed from these websites you can select various seat positions)

I expect it is impossible to get hold of FA cup final tickets!...but grateful for ANY advice

Many many thanks title=Smile

Best answers:

  • Avoid the ticket resellers - these are (by and large) acting illegally (it is an offence to tout football tickets under the public order act).
For big matches, you'll struggle if you're not a member. Demand outstrips supply at Arsenal. For smaller games, there is sometimes availability for games but these will usually sell quickly (in the main, these are tickets that the visiting team returns from their allocation).
You may have luck on the club's official ticket exchange. This is where season ticket holders who can't go to a match can list their tickets for other supporters to buy. Each club run these schemes differently though so you may or may not need to be a member.
As for FA Cup tickets, forget it. Both Hull and Arsenal have only been allocated around 26,000 tickets each.
  • Thank you for this information
  • I used to have a neighbour who worked for Liverpool Football Club in the office.
Just before big games I would be swamped with requests from friends and family..."can you ask XXXX if he can get me a couple of tickets for the match?
It was embarrassing to ask him but he always managed to deliver - once for FA Cup Final tickets which were like gold dust.
Strangely enough it was only ever myself, who never went to a match, who bothered to thank him!
