How best to receive money from American in-laws?

A question about : How best to receive money from American in-laws?

Hi all,

My wife's parents, who live in California, would like to give the equivalent of Ј200 as a gift ahead of the birth of our first child.

What's the best way for them to get that money to us without losing out on exchange rates etc?

• I either send it by paypal or amazon, but they`ll have to send it amazon .co .uk and not .com
  I have to do the reverse of you , my daughter out in the US x
• PayPal won't offer the best exchange rate but hands down the easiest way to do it IMO.
