Housing Benefit!

A question about : Housing Benefit!

Hi all

i recently had a baby and phoned tax credits and housing benefit to let them know,

i have just recieved 2 letters from Housing benefit

1 saying that my entitlement had gone up and im now entitled to
Ј331 every 2 weeks and my first payment will be on 10th Jan,

the second letter says im now entitled to
Ј255 every 2 weeks and my first payment will be on 26th jan!

i recieved a payment on 10th Jan but this was only for Ј67

i have just phoned them and the lady said, my normal payment was sent on the 6th to reach me on the 10th and another will be sent on the 26th

i asked her what is going on with this 331 then and she said oh i dont know!!! theres nothing about it here!!!

im so confused

can anyone try and shed some light for me?

• the Ј331 may have been generated by the number of bedrooms changing in your entitlement (eg previously 1 bedroom rate, now 2 bedroom rate)
  the Ј255 may be the reduction from that rate based on your new child tax credits income
  Do either of the letters refer to your income and which one matches the correct income?
• Timescale for a claim form is normally about 2 weeks but at this time of year I could imagine it being longer.
