A question about : hotels.com welcome rewards
Does anyone know whether paying in full for a hotel would make a difference? I have 5 points towards a free night and have had an email to say if I don't book something before end of March I'll lose them.
I've already booked a couple for the summer but those didn't show (presumably because they are refundable?). If I book a night in June and pay now, will that show in my rewards?
Thanks
PS I will email them but am dithering about booking something that a group of friends have booked... I'd prefer refundable but would pay now if it makes a difference.

- I think I can answer my own question! I've just found the email they sent me on 11th January. It looks like I have to stay before April rather than just book:
Your Welcome Rewards® nights are about to expire.
As you haven’t collected any Welcome Rewards nights in the last 9 months, you may end up losing all of them.
To keep the nights you’ve already collected, simply book and stay at least 1 night at any eligible hotel by 09/04/2015.
Thanks,
