A question about : Home insurance, coach house.
As above, hopefully this is the right place.
I'm moving into a coach house at short notice and am trying to sort out insurance.
I only need content as its a rental property but this is proving difficult.
What insurers will insure a coach house?
Churchill, nationwide and direct line don't seem to touch them.
Anyone had an experience like this?
Thanks

- For those of us that live in modern suburbia its probably worth saying what you mean by a coach house. A google images search showed a combination of detached and semi-detached proporties
- Fully detached.
Basically a 2 bed flat above 3 garages, one garage is mine and 2 are other people's
Apologies should have made that clear - Personally I'd do quotes as a detached property and then check with the cheapest insurers/ brokers if they are happy with it.
Quickly checking with Aviva and DL's Live Chat people they both say they'd count it as a detached property. - Right okay that's worth bearing in mind.
Churchill told me that even though I only want contents, the fact that the garages belong to other people causes 'complications'.
Talk about fobbed off, will make some enquiries
Thanks - curious if you have found an insurer as I am in the same boat, but I need Landlord insurance?
