A question about : Home contents and building insurance (flooding)

Hi new here I have looked over the forum and cannot find anything related to this so here goes.
We live in Carlisle and were flooded on 8/1/2005 eventually we have got everything sorted out with the insurance company at a cost of Ј75,000 to them. Last year our insurance went up from Ј350 to Ј700, which i can understand, but now ready to re-new and they have sent me a letter telling me that i will have an excess of Ј2500 on a flood, and then a day later my re-newal policy turns up with a they want Ј1200 this is for bulidings and contents.
So my question is does anyone know any insurance companies that will insure me (including flood protection) as every one i have tried will not give me a quote, and i dont want to pay that whooping amount if i can help it

• Try the British Insurance Broker's Association . They should be able to point you in the right direction.
  Somebody will cover you at a lesser cost I am sure.
  It's been announced to us in the last few days that household policies will be going up due to Hurrican Katrina, so insurers can recoup the costs of the payout made!!!
  It disgusts me.
