A question about : High water bill due to dripping toilet
Just received a water bill covering the past 6 months which was very high (Ј540 for 3 people in rented property).
Checked meter and could see it was going up when no water was being used.
Identified that one of the toilets was dripping from the cistern into the bowl. Shut off the water supply to the toilet and meter seems to have stopped going up.
Is there anything I can do to avoid the high bill? I am guessing not as the issue was with the property and the landlord wasn't to know.
Best answers:
- If you have previous bills and can demonstrate that the consumption during this period is excessive, the water company may give you a 'goodwill' allowance(if you ask nicely)
