A question about : Help-Too much invested in two share ISA's in error
Hi to MSE forum,
I wonder if anyone can help....
After a life on a low to middling income, after my mum's death I am looking into share trading. I've done lot's of research....however, this hasn't prevented a few early mistakes. I find that, after opening two share trading ISA's I have invested over the yearly limit.
I'm happy to change the one ISA into a trading account[ they have only been open for about two months]. I'm just unsure as to the cash /regulatory issues having spotted this foolish error.
I've been putting off contacting the trading provider....
Many Thanks
Best answers:
- It's not a serious error, and someone would notice in the end - just give them a ring and explain. Probably easier, simpler and quicker than posting here I reckon :-)
- I'm sure you are right Lawrie. I just needed to get that feedback. In some ways I'm very much new to the world of finance even if it's just a question of chatting to my broker, and I wanted to get an idea of the seriousness of my error.
Many thanks for your instant feedback! :-) - HMRC advice was for individual to take no action. Archived version here, but I can't easily find any updated guidance
