Hi,

Can anyone recommend a reliable company to fit solar
panels near Durham? Postcode DH6

We have a south facing roof -2 quotes for 16 panels varying
Ј10,000 to Ј12,000

LG panels and Sharp panels.

Any companies to avoid?

• The only other thing I can think of that might push the price up a bit is if you have a slate roof rather than a tiled one. We're not talking thousands here though!

• It might be worth crunching the numbers to see if using higher efficiency panels might be an option. Say 16x 330W rather than 16x 250W. They are more expensive and the FIT rate would be 10% lower, but you'd get a third more electricity.

  Sorry for delay in response. I have now contacted some other companies. We have been told we can fit 13 panels on our roof.

  14x 270W Trina panels
  SMA inverter

  Total cost Ј5495
  What do you think?
  Is it worth asking them about 330W panels?
