A question about : Help needed,

I am currently helping my Mum to do her PPI claim. And have ran into a bit of a snag my Dad passed away about 8 years ago. And I was wondering is my mum entitled to claim for any joint accounts they may have had including mortgages. And also where we can find out what accounts they had as my mum is unsure on what and where there accounts may have been ? She knows the mortgage ended up with Nation wide. But the accounts are not showing up on experian ?

  • Your mum is making a complaint, not a claim, you don't just get it back because you paid it. You get it back if you can prove it was miss sold. Can she do this.
Its very unlikely that any paperwork exists from 8 years ago. Companiies are obliged to keep paperwork for 6 years and then normally destroy it. Mortgage PPI was normally a good idea anyway, it certainly offered protection against losing your home if you couldn't pay the mortgage.
You could request an SAR from Nationwide with a cheque for Ј10 and they should send any info that they have on file.
