A question about : GCs PCs

https://www.gcspcs.co.uk/store/index.php
I just wanted to post this to warn any others of being scammed by this 16 year old fraudster.
I am one of many people who have been caught up in a very frustrating problem with GC's PC's. Most customers have all paid for items and never recieved them, yet more money is being withdrawn from their accounts. I however received the wrong item.
The problem is, ********* r, the owner of this site, is impossible to get in contact with.
There is no address on the website, and the address you can find on CompaniesHouse.com is that of a Solicitors and they have refused to have any contact with ******** anymore.
The 'call-you-back' phone service on their site was once working, but of course no one ever calls you back. Now the phone line is dead.
There is a support section on the site, yet no one replies. Even worse, they will charge you an extra Ј6.70 for posting more than one ticket in the support section.
It has now become clear that a lot of his Terms and Conditions are unlawful and unfair.
No one is getting any response from him, I figure he has spent all of the money he got which is why no one can get any refunds. title=Mad

For anyone reading this that has been mislead by this website too, I suggest:

1) Contact Trading Standards Essex
2) Make a claim via MCOL for your loss ( https://www.hmcourts-service.gov.uk/onlineservices/mcol/ )
3) Spread the word about GC's PC's to prevent more people falling into the same trap.

I hope this helps anyone in a similar situation and shows some truth about this site.title=Wink

Best answers:

  • Is this him?
  • Yes, there is also a similar glowing article about him in the Daily Mail.
  • One look at the layout of the website and the prices is enough to put me off straight away.
  • I am also another person experiencing the same problem. I posted a thread elsewhere on this forum, but I want to make sure that no one else goes through what we are going through!
Good luck to everyone trying to get their money back
  • Hi have just had a couple of reader complaints about this site .. have looked at terms and conditions and they are seriously unbelievable in parts.. this young guy - have googled him - is breaking consumer statutory laws with some of his charges as far as I can tell - and I write about these consumer law breaches constantly.. I am going to try to get a hold of him for some form of comment - have already contacted OFT because I can't believe what I was reading - but if he is taking that much money as the news reports suggest, he needs to get this right - anyone here wants to give me any info on any problems they have had with him, please contact me
  • not exactly cheap stuff is it
  • And there are even more 'interesting' terms......
  • No wonder he is raking it in. Then again stupid naive people who do not read the T&C's deserve what they get
  • I spoke to ******* last night and he is adamant that the Ts and Cs were verified by Trading Standards and a solicitor; so my view that they breached statutory law was wrong.
Also as I am not a qualified lawyer and only a journalist specialising in consumer law my views and work in this area count for nothing apparently.
So to dismiss the claim about verification from Trading Standards. They told me that in no way would they or did they verify Ts and Cs from a company but they may look at them. If they did look at ********s then they were not verified. He and the company are under investigation by Trading Standards and they wish to talk to him.. any complaints should be sent to them via Consumerdirect (www.consumerdirect.gov.uk). I would point out to them that an investigation is ongoing.
Since, according to ********, I am not 'qualified' to speak on this subject of consumer law, I have put his Ts and Cs to the OFT and a lawyer for comment.
********* also was at pains to say that he always replied to customers and people contacting the geographical address only did so because they were unwilling to pay him the additional charge per new ticket number - he used a very uncomplimentary term about customers who did this.
But he said people with a complaint would get better service if they emailed legal@gcspcs.co.uk. He didn't mention if he would make a charge for a new ticket by the way. He was insistent that I should give people this email address if they had a complaint.

  • Correct me if I am wrong, but is it possible for someone as young as 16 to be allowed to run a company such as this.If it all goes pear shaped would he be able to walk away because he is considered too young to be responsible
  • Yes apparently he can set up a company at Companies House; checked with them the other day. He cannot however have merchant credit facilities.. ie he should not be able to take your money unless someone else has set this up for the site. They did. So TS won't be investigating just one ******... as to who would be legally responsible he is of an age at 16 when he would be deemed legally responsible I should think - but will check for certain.
I have informed the acquiring bank that gave this credit licence to GCSPCS and informed them of the concerns -especially about the additional charges being taken -this should not be able to happen even with his spurious Ts and Cs so have informed the payment portal Protx as well.. and Essex Police plus the OFT...Essex police btw have not received any complaints and said it would only investigate if they consider this a criminal rather than civil matter..However to reach this conclusion they would have to have complaints from customers
  • Just that your name is unique and I remember a colleague of a similar name from there about 10 years ago.
  • Those t+c's are unbelievable
  • ah ok omen gotcha now I understand re the Carlton query - was just a bit puzzled.
