A question about : Furnituredeal.co.uk

Has anyone heard of furnituredeal.co.uk or used them?

They seem to have a big range of all types of furniture and I'm wondering what their service is like.

Best answers:

  • I know this is a bit late but I am now awaiting to have a refund from FurnitureDeal after still waiting for goods for 3 months, I now have trading standards involved.
  • I am also waiting for a refund, cancelled my order at the end of Nov, was told 5-7 days for my refund and i am still waiting. I have sent a couple of e-mails all got the these reply's -
    Dear Customer,
    1st email -
    Thank you for your email.
You request for refund will be processed within 5-7 working days.
You will receive an email notification as soon as the refund goes through successfully.
    Thanks & Regards,

    2nd email -
    Dear Customer,
I sincerely apologize for the delay.
Your request for refund will be processed within 5-7 working days.
You will receive an email notification as soon as the refund goes
    through successfully.

Then i went on line to use the chat facility on their web site and was told refund normally takes 30 days from the day cancellation was made, but some times done earlier and they don't have any info on this now the admin department is closed until 5 Jan, yet the sales team on the phone say admin are open... think its a scam and i will be phoning my credit card company up on monday...
My advice, do not use FURNITURE DEAL UK or NET or LTD, they are all the same company.
  • They are allowed unfortunately to take 28 days, yes I know it a pain
Your best always paying any high value goods by credit card or at least with Visa card especially at mo
  • I ordered a sofa and chair with them and received them at the start of December as I requested. No problems really.
  • I've been trying since 10 January to get my money back. The goods I ordered on line at end of November said they were in stock, and I after chaisng them up I was told they were out of stock.
I have emailed, used LIVE CHAT and rung them - still no refund despite promising each time.
My last two emails have got failure notices from Yahoo saying cannot deliver this is a permanent error.
Does anyone know how to claim back as I paid by credit card? Also I think I should inform Trading Standards.
  • Phone up your credit card company and explain the problem. also might be worth posting on the credit card board as the folks there are well versed in dealing with credit card issues.
  • They are an absolute bunch of cowboys DO NOT USE THEM!
They delivered a bed to me without any screws, I’ve been waiting for weeks for them to be sent to me, but they keep sending the wrong ones.
The customer service is very poor, when you call them they speak to you with such an arrogant manner that it makes your blood boil.
  • Dont ever use furnituredeal.co.uk, EVER.
At the beginning of January I ordered a nice oak TV stand from them. After 3 weeks of waiting (and 2 days before it was supposed to be delivered) I got an email saying it was an end of line item and I could either choose a different product or have a refund. I went for the refund option. They said the refund would take place on or before the 22nd February. At the time I thought it seemed a bit extreme to have to wait 4 weeks for a refund but fair enough.
Well the 22nd of February came and went and there was no sign of my refund. For the past month ive been sending numerous emails and placing phone calls. Everytime I speak to them, they promise that the refund will happen in 2-3 days but it never does. The guy on the end of the phone seems so apathetic, very frustrating.
I dont really know where to go from here...
  • no communication once payment was made , constantly altered delivery once we managed to contact them, gave our telephone number to another customer as a contact number for their delivery ???? (who actually rang us to complain that her funiture had not been delivered), in the end we thought it best to cancel our order and are currently awaiting a refund , if you shop here good luck !!!!!!
  • Was really worried - after placing an order with furniture deal I found this forum!
However....ordered Amalfi and Sheraton bedroom furniture. Amalfi arrived in 3 weeks, Sheraton in 4 weeks. Customer service people were really helpful and managed to deliver the items, as I requested, before I went back to work after maternity leave - 4 weeks earlier than they originally told me. All items arrived safely and were complete. Best prices I could find on web for what I wanted. Very good quality items. Really can't fault them. Not sure what's happened to other people?
  • Just wanted to warn people of my appalling experience with FurnitureDeal.
I placed an order for some bedroom furniture in March. I was advised there would be a 2 week delay once the money had cleared. After several chase up e mails (many of which were ignored), I was advised there would be a further delay. Furnituredeal blamed the delay on the suppliers. I contacted the suppliers direct only to find out they had ceased trading with Furnituredeal. I immediately requested a refund and have been continually fobbed off with an unrealistic date in June. Furnituredeal have ignored my requests to explain why the refund has not been processed in accordance with the Direct Selling Regulations. Fortunately, my credit card company have stepped in and refunded the money to my account. My advice is to steer well clear of Furnituredeal. They are dishonest.
  • How I wish I had spotted this before placing an order!...
My worst experience of Internet shopping ever by a huge margin. Appear to be 'good value for money' when you look at their prices but realistically..
    1) Payment taken on order not shipment
    2) 'expected shipment date' on web site is a myth
    3) continually receive revised delivery dates - which are never achieved
    4) trying to get a refund is exactly the same... dates are promised then changed or missed.
In summary... appalling. Don't waste your time or money, the stress really is not worth the (non-) saving!!
  • Try these guys instead.
    https://www.oakfurnitureland.co.uk/
    It all arrived as described.
About a month after delivery we had a problem with excessive shrinking of our dining room table. Called customer services, explained the problem had a couple of phone calls and a week later we had a replacement without fuss or hassle and they removed the faulty one at the same time. New table absolutely fine.
Highly recommend oakfurntireland for this type of purchase and if things don't go quite to plan, customer services do actually help and resolve the problem.
  • I'm annoyed with myself for not checking here first. I'm also having problems them.
Order placed on 4th July with 14 day lead time, 2 days after that contacted them and was told they had a problem with their suppliers and stock and should expect delivery by the end on the month. Still, nothing. Another week later and had to chase them up again and am now told it could be a further 2 weeks.
Rather sneakily though I did some research and found the manufacturers/suppliers of the bed I ordered and contacted them directly. Although, quite rightly, they wouldn't divulge any information regarding their distributor. I did manage to fish out of them that if I perhaps ordered the same item with one of their other distributors, that they had stock available for direct shipping within 24 hours. Read into that what you will...
Just added complete credence to my scepticism about what FunitureDeal were telling me. I have now cancelled my order and demanded a full refund. I believe, due to distance selling reg they can take upto 30 days which is a bit rubbish, but at least I'll still have Barclaycard to fall back on if they fail to do that either.
Moral of the story, check on MoneysavingExpert first and use a credit card if possible. One out of two aint bad I suppose :-)
  • This company is a joke! Ordered a bed and it took over a month to deliver, then once received, it was damaged. It took several e-mails over the course of 2 weeks to get any kind of response, their telephone number is often engaged and once you get through, customer service reps could not be less helpful. Was told i was using the wrong e-mail address, which i wasn't. Tried the online chat which finally got me somewhere. Took a further 3 weeks to get it collected (which was not entirely satisfactory as the guys collecting it were clearly just a couple of guys in a van which made me quite uncomfortable) had to ask for a receipt which they couldn't produce. Made them sign a piece of paper with their names on it which was all i could think of to do. E-mailed the accounts department and customer services the following monday asking them to confirm they were in receipt of the bed. Accounts responded with a refund will be processed in the next 14 working days and i would be notified by e-mail. Well, the 14 days are now up and i have not heard a word! Sent another e-mail last Friday and again today but still heard nothing even though i have threatened to make a formal complaint if i hear nothing by the end of today. Incredibly tedious and ridiculous to have to go through all this to get your money back. It has been poor service all the way through and i would be interested to hear if anyone here has got their money back and what they had to do in order to get it.
  • Just to keep you updated, I managed to get them to give me written email confirmation of my refund request. I really wasn't keen on digging myself in deeper with them and (eventually) actually having something I might need to return.
Still, sounds like they'll be playing the 30 day game with the credit card refund, despite them promising to do it sooner if they can. Somehow, me thinks i'll be making a call to Barclaycard in 27 days :-/
    [sigh]
  • I am also really annoyed with myself for not checking here first. I spent over Ј300 on a bed and two bedside cabinets in June 2009 and once they had my money... that was it. They didn't even bother to contact me I had to keep chasing them and all they could say was "Yes Ma'am we totally understand Ma'am and we are very sorry but your items have been delayed".
Every time I called or emailed it was one excuse after another. I have also emailed them loads of time to ask for my money back and the reply is 'we will deal with your request within 24 hours'. Check this out it has now been 5 weeks.
I have contacted trading standards too and they have advised me to send the company a written letter requesting for the refund. They also said make sure I get proof of postage. I am so disappointed.
I hope you all complain to trading standards and maybe we should take it to Watchdog! if more of us do that, the better chances we have in getting somewhere. Good Luck all
  • My exact story!!!
    Quote:
  • Well, i'm 5 days from the end of the statutory 30 days they get to issue my refund after confirming it to me in writing. Still not holding my breath...
Barclaycard complaints/fraud number ready on speed dial!
I sincerely hope FDUK are following this thread. In fact, I might just email it to them.
