French food

A question about : French food

Is there anyone on here that lives in say Dover but goes over to France on day trips to do food shopping?

• I live about 40 minutes from Dover and used to go to Cite Europe at Calais which is pretty good but to make it worth your while you have to really stock up quite a bit.Detergent was usually a good price and their deli counter was to die for.As I live alone now I no longer bother unless its for a special occasion like Christmas etc or a family 'do'
• I live in London but normally pop over every 2 months or so. I normally buy happy chickens (Label Rouge ones that have lived a long time), cheese, jams and alcohol in Carrefour and Auchan. I now go further than Calais and try to fit in a Belgian Carrefour (there's a big one in Bruges that is only an hour from Calais) as they stock different things to the French branch. I do find it more expensive than in France though. I like to buy Mayo, friet sauce and curry ketchup in Belgium. There is a branch of Albert Heijn, the Dutch supermarket, in Bruges which is good for these!
• I live between London and Dover and have a French uncle. When my mother goes over to see her bro she gets me the odd thing here and there but the price differentuials aren't massive.
  Besides which, I can get French food delivered from Ocado, Fortnum & Mason, Waitrose, Fauchon, Hediard and French Click.
