A question about : FreeAgent Central online accounting system

I have just started using this very nice web based accounting solution for small businesses called FreeAgent. I wanted to share a referral code, which will save you 10% off the monthly fee forever. A 30 day free trial is also available for each new user who registers, try before you buy. FreeAgent has, actually, dare I say it, made bookkeeping and accountancy fun.

UPDATE: Still using this great piece of accounting software 5 years on. It just gets better with each update and saves me hours of bookkeeping.

  I Have a small graphic design studio in Surrey and this Freeagentcentral is perfect for managing my estimates, invoicing and bills. I really can't imagine working with out it already. The interface is intuitive, the support is friendly and effective. Although I am not a numbers guy, organised with my books, this software almost makes it fun. It seems that they are continuously developing the software and listen to your feedback. they do not charge for software updates (99% sure on that) Plus its online so you can access it any where from any platform, even I phone. oh and it syncs with ical too.
  For my business it works out at Ј15 pm as I am VAT registered sole trader. I received 2 months free as I signed up for a year.
  I did a lot of research prior to going with Freeagent. I looked at Sonhar, Previewstreamtime and Synergist, Xero, Clearbooks and sidejobtrack. some were impressive but all cost a lot more.

  As people above have mentioned, I can only concur with everything they have said about FreeAgentCentral. A fantastic piece of accounting software, which best of all is web based so it's so easy to bookmark and use at will wherever you are.
  As above, I also run a small design agency and FreeAgentCentral is excellent for managing all of my invoicing and accounting needs. You can enter bank statements, having running job balances for individual clients, produce estimates and proposal documents. It's fantastic. The support is pretty good too - every page on the web based system has a help-along drop down tag which has relevant tips for each page, with a link to an email at support for extra help too - they usually get back to you within 24hrs.
  The web based interface is a dream - easy to follow and totally bespoke. If you want to upload all of your own company branding, logos etc so that when producing estimates and invoices, there is no reference other than to you own company, you can! Fantastic! Another great feature of the system is the contacts. You can enter all of your contacts/clients details and produce estimates to send via the system rather than have to create a new email each time and send manually... very sweet!
  I've looked at loads of alternatives much like those above, and can honestly say FreeAgentCentral is by far the best. What's more you can demo the system with no money up front first and if you like, you buy, if you don't, you pay nothing.

  I used a referral code and can't recommend FreeAgent highly enough!
  I've been looking for something which offers all your accounting and invoicing needs in one place. Before I tried make best use of a manual system. Excel spreadsheet for accounts, viewing online bank account to match up, separate app for invoice generation, then manually chasing payments and ticking them off in Google mail as paid, then using Google Calendar for reminders, renewals etc...
  Ultimately a bit of a mess so was keen to find a solution and looked around the main companies on-line clearbooks etc...
  Obviously checking their website you can see the extensive support for everything you'd need to run your accounts. It's now so easy for me to generate estimates and invoices in seconds and have an overview of money paid and owed.

• We’ve been using Freeagent Central for a while now – just preparing our second year accounts using it, and still love it. Great for a growing company like us.

  Been using Freeagent Central for few weeks now and really like it. It's very smart and professional and has lots of good features like simple payroll, corporation tax calculation, handles dividends, recurring invoices, bank statement import etc. I also looked at Xero and Clearbooks but found Freeagent to be superior - Xero wouldn't import my Abbey bank statement for instance and I found Clearbooks harder to use.

  I agree they seem to keep improving it. I think the thing that I like most is how Freeagent handles expenses and bank statements. In the past I used MYOB (traditional PC package) and I'd do this:
  - Buy something for my business
  - Enter it into MYOB as an expense
  - Get my bank statement and do a reconciliation, ticking off the expense
  Now with Freeagent it's a bit different:
  - Buy something
  - Import my latest bank statement
  - Explain the expense by allocating to the correct expense account
  But what's good is that Freeagent learns your explanations, so you don't have to do step 3 if it's something you've bought before (e.g. rent, phone bill etc). I find it much quicker and easier and no chance of typos because you're importing the statement. I guess the only thing is you are relying on your bank statement being correct

  I've been using this for a few weeks now and it is brilliant! I've been running my own company for over 7 years now and paying through the nose for accountants. Freeagent has made a lot of my day to day stuff a lot easier, it handles my daily hours, VAT returns, Tax returns just about everything and I can even get an instant snapshot of how the business is doing.
  It really is a breath of fresh air, particularly if like me you don't enjoy the all the paperwork that goes with running a business. It doesn't handle everything, but invoicing, quotes, and estimates are all handled with ease.

  Hi, I joined free agent central in Jan 2011. I used the month trial and uploaded my bank statements, paypal statements and reconcilled everything. I have also used it to add new invoices which can be emailed through free agent central. I think its great and has even allowed me a way to add yearly renewals for clients, giving me more time to focus on other aspects of my web business. I would highly recommend Free Agent Central.
