A question about : free things in Barnstaple and north devon

I am hoping to compile a list of free things to do

Best answers:

  • For adults and/or children?
  • South Molton museum.
  • We always go to Woolacombe/Croyde in the summer camping for a week. If you take the pathway down to the beach near the ice cream parlour in Croyde you'll get to the beach eventually which has huge sand dunes to jump down (just don't go on the restricted areas for erosion protection) and they have a volleyball net so worth taking a volleyball down!
    Not sure if you live there or you are going on holiday there but we brought 2 ex-hire soft surfboards for Ј30 each and share those & go down to the beach and all bodyboard/surf. We did the Tarka Trail cycle also which was really fun with some lovely views.
    I can't think of anything else that was free but we just mooch around & enjoy our time down here & count down the years til we can move!
