Best answers:

  • if you want to do this deal you MUST speak to the:
    CUSTOMER OPTIONS TEAM
they are the only ones within BT who can do this deal
  • i joined bt in feb and paid Ј122.50 do you think i could get a refund ??
  • i called bt this morning and thay said they no nothing about it ,infact they where quite rude about it and said this web site is nothing to do with them ,would like to here about anyone who has got this deal.
  • I just rang BT and was told that they know nothing about this offer. When I showed her the website link from this site I was told that it only applied to business customers. Having now seen this:

  • i spoke to customer options after everyone else and they were the least helpful of all.hope you have more luck .
  • I spoke to the Customer Options Team today morning at 9am and they asked me whether I have got a mail from BT saying this. I had initially told them that my call is for enquiry only, and told them I will call them back once i speak to my current providers.
They confirmed this deal but also mentined it's for people who have been notified by mail- BS i guess, may be not, worth a try
  • I just phoned Mumbai or wherever it is they have their "Customer Services" dept and even with threat of cancellation of my new order (which has the Ј122.50 line connection fee) they dismissed this new offer as non-existant. Good luck to those that claim it exists.

  • I got through to the customer options team and, after some dicussion, eventually e-mailed the woman the link that Martin supplied. We looked through it together and she brought my attention to this part:
"This Special Offer is available between 1st April 2009 and 30th June 2009 (inclusive) to eligible residential customers agreeing to an 18 month contract on..."
Apparently "eligible residential customers" means people who used to be with BT but left and moved to a cable provider. She told me this is only an offer to entice people away from cable providers and back to BT. I pointed out that there is nothing on the page that describes what "eligible" means and she agreed that it wasn't clear. If the word eligible hadn't been there she said she would have given me the offer. However, as it says eligible she couldn't give it to me even though there is no explanation of what eligible means.
I hope that made sense. Did anyone else have better luck?
  • Have just spoken to BT, You must ask for the current options team. BUT____ to take up this offer, you must have recieved a letter with a phrase in it which must be quoted or they will not offer the free line.
SO...........has anyone had one of these letters and what's the magic phrase???
  • Got the offer line installed and not charged for installation.
From my original post ... which I might add nobody is thanking me yet ;(
Make sure you speak to the options team (who handle special offers)

Doesn't go into enough details as to what "eligible customers" are only that you should agree to terms mentioned. Ask to speak to their manager if they don't agree to offer as I have got the offer
    Good luck!
  • I just called and spoke to Customer Options. The woman I spoke to went off to confirm with her colleagues (for several minutes), then came back and said the offer was not valid. She eluded to a different phrase being required to get the offer and that some customers had been e-mailed or posted out to with the correct phrase in it!
    Just seen the update:
    Important. Update Note 10am 22 April 2009
We’re hearing feedback that people are being turned down for this deal. We’ve written confirmation from BT powers that be, that this is “It’s available to all customers new, existing and returning.” Yet at the momement that obviously isn’t filtering through to the call centre.
We’ve spoken to BT this morning and it's checking the situation out, and promises to get back to us quickly. So if you try and fail now, come back for an update on this situation later.
I'll call back in a while....
  • HI all,
Another update. BT has apologised and has said it's sending out an urgent briefing in the next 20 minutes to ensure all staff know that this offer is available to everyone. All the details set out in the article are correct. So if you have not managed to get the deal try again later.
  • cant believe this
we moved within in a year of getting BT line and so, of course, had to pay another Ј100+ for them to flick a bloomin switch(as the line was already to go) to get the new one
now theyr offering it FREE oh im so
  • Thanks alot andyinyorkshire. I have followed your instruction + have been sucessful getting the second line to be installed next Tuesday! Just to say and alert anyone else that I didnt realise at first that I would get a new second telephone number, with its own bill etc ie.now 2 standing charges - (could have had it combined with my current bill). What I intend to do is get the new line installed, transfer my existing BT number to the new line, as I dont want to loose it then discontinue my orig BT line. I was told 3 - 4 times that I should not qualify for the offer but I said I had been about it told by 'a friend' who had already got it earlier today. So thanks again + my advice to anyone else 'act vague' whilst speaking to BT!!!
  • I called BT but they refused to give me the offer as I couldn't fax them in a copy of the letter sent to me including the deal. What can I do?
  • Just rang BT about the offer and they said the offer is only for new customers or returning customers for the new line offer. They said that martin had got his facts wrong. Anyone else had any luck with it when your an existing customer?
  • I signed up yesterday, agreed the 122.50, and when i mentioned it was expensive was only given an option to pay over 6 months.
It's being installed on Tuesaday 28th? Does anyone know if i can cancel still?
  • i think you can cancel, before it's installed but don't hold me to it lol. Prob best to get ringing them quick and try to cancel at least.
