A question about : Foreign body in food!

I recently returned a blue full elastic band (2 long when flattened) to Asda which I had found inside a microwave meal.
Asda's response was to send me a letter of apology and a Ј5 voucher, which I thought was disappointing.
Is this a normal amount to receive in the way of compensation?

Best answers:

  • What would you like to have?
  • I gave them the opportunity to check their packing line to see where the error had occurred and to ensure that it did not happen again, thereby avoid any further complaints. Ј5 seems a feeble reward for doing this.
  • Get the lawyers in and don't settle for anything less than Ј100k.
  • OP, to explain the comments above, we're a consumer rights board so we tend to view things from that perspective.
In law, you'd be entitled to a refund for the meal since it wasnt of satisfactory quality.
You wouldnt be entitled to compensation because well, there has been no harm caused.
