A question about : fixed term?

Sightly confused, looking into changing supplier, looking at fixed term deals, some have fees for leaving early, some don't?

I understand paying to get out of the contract, but how can you agree to a fixed term, then just decide to leave, why would they allow you to leave with no penalty? doesn't that make it a none fixed term.

or am I reading this wrong, and it's a case of the ones with no penalty, you can't leave until the end?

Best answers:

  • Yes, you re reading it wrongly. The only things which are fixed are the tariff and the length of time it runs to. You can leave when you like but pay an exit fee of course if one is in place. I ve moved twice in the last six months, ( collecting 2 x Ј30 cashback ) paying the Eon Ј10 exit fee to join Sainsburys who have a much more substantial exit fee of Ј60 so I will be sticking the year out with them unless the tariffs drop substantially.
