A question about : Financial Assessment for Care-home fees
I'm just in the process of completing the financial assessment on behalf of my aunt for social services.
She has just under Ј300 in her 'pocket money' a/c within the home she lives in. Do I need to inform them of that too.
Best answers:
- Yes, fairly sure you do. Depending upon the amount in her accounts (in total) this may not make a difference. What top figure are you looking at? Is she paying in full, privately? Or is Social Services paying a large chunk (with her pension, minus the @Ј23 pocket money)?
- You need to declare all the money your aunt has, whether it's being held for her by the Home or kept in a sock under the bed. Ј300 shouldn't make very much difference to the outcome of the assessment.
On the other hand Ј300 is a largish lump to be sat doing nothing. Is there nothing she needs? Replacement clothing / better telly / new shoes/coat etc etc
