Signed up to F.U. last May through Uswitch for both gas and leccy. Had no problem with leccy, but issues with swoping gas across, this went on for several months and each time I rang them, I was told the problem had been resolved and I would be online in 4-6 weeks time, which in itself was a problem as I'd forget to check. The tarriff expires in Sept '15 and decided, enough was enough, so phoned and said, I was changing provider to which they replied there was a Ј30 early termination charge. I said, you try to get it from me and I will take you to court for not fulfilling the terms of our agreement. I signed up with the MSE Cheap Energy Club and based on my projections of usage of Ј835 per year, I had a quote fixed for 12 months from E.ON saving me over 25%. I've just submitted my meter readings and waiting for final bills, which I suspect I will have to deduct Ј30 from for leccy use.
N.B. I now understand their problem with transferring the gas as the account was in the name of my landlord, which we have now amended. if they had told me this last year, we could have saved a lot of hassle. But obviously I am now very happy at saving enough to fund a weekend away.
