A question about : Fast4/V21/Biscit (merged threads)

I have been unable to connect to Fast4 since last night (Saturday, 30th September). Sometimes I get engaged tone, other times it dials but then I get the message Invalid Username and Password. I am still unable to connect this morning (Sunday). There's nothing posted on their system status board.

Is anyone else experiencing the same problems. I haven't been with them long, but there does seem to be more and more problems.

Geoff

  • yes I have the same problem today .I have broadband with fast 4 but I also have a dial up connection with fast4 neither are working .
  • I've been having dial up problems all week..Keep getting error code 691, 678 etc etc. Phoned Fast 4 Customer Service on Friday and was told there is no problems. Managed to get on this morning Sunday 01 Oct @ 0920am
  • my BB working again
  • I had the same problems wrong password last night. Most of the time fast4 works fine though
  • Ah it's let me on now, but very slow. Oh well, I suppose we must expect these hitches when we're paying only Ј4-99. Agree, it's a good service - when it's working!

  • I signed up with Fast 4 at the start of September. It was flawless for
the first few weeks. Last weekend I started to get a lot of the
    following:
    'unable to establish a connection'
    'Invalid user name or password'
'The page cannot be displayed/Cannot find server'
In other words Fast4 is having trouble coping with demand.
I do still get to use the net as much as I want but not always as and when I want to. I hope they can remedy this situation.
By the way, can someone provide a correct email address for
reporting problems to Fast4? I tried the one stated on their website
but it seems to be wrong. Thanks.
  • Yes, I know they have a members area but I was hoping, especially as they do mention a email facility, to find a working email address. That way I could email Fast4 using my non-Fast4 email even if the Fast4 web access is unavailable.
  • I've been with Fast4 for about 3 years and the service was generally fine until recently. I've just got to the stage where I cant trust it anymore and this has given me the final push to broadband - which activates tomorrow.
  • After some problems a while ago, as a relatively light user I pushed the boat out to pay an extra £1 per month and joined the dmcdial £5.99 per month deal - which is limited to just 40 hours per month - but has never failed to connect. Maybe a helpful suggestion for some people struggling now who use less than 40 hours???
(80 hours is £7.99 - again I mention them for reliablity, not moneysaving)
  • Hi, like many others I have been having problems with fast 4 lately.
I dont know if its just coincidence but when I have been unable to connect on the pay monthly plan, I connect to the fast4 payg and so far it connects straight away. I stay connected for a minute (dont know if that makes a difference) and then disconnect and hey presto the pay monthly then seems to connect. As I say it could be coincidence. let me know if it works for you.
still get the page unobtainable problem from time to time though.
  • I got an email from them a while ago ( 13/07/06 ) ,they used this email address accounts@v21.co.uk
  • I always re-connect immediately when the two hours is up so I now wait with baited breath to be disconnected!
I changed to Fast4Net Dial Up in March this year and the only problems I had until recently is that they take the monthly payment too early (one time leading to me being disconnected).
The last month or so the connections have been a nightmare, especially at the weekends. I originally thought it was my PC and made the mistake of calling their Technical Department. Don't ever bother to ring this AT 50p A MINUTE as it's a total waste of time. It sounds like a call centre outside the UK and the operators I have spoken to don't seem to have a great understanding of English.
Another moan is that the Server Status is never kept up to date (which originally lead me to believe that is WAS my PC that had the problem).
I know they are extremely cheap but I am seriously considering changing to another provider in the near future as at the moment it's driving me doolally!!!
  • sometimes telco providers list calls down as +VAT.... like Skype does, and several others
  • I've only made one payment - it was due on the 25th and they took it on the 28th! But, I must watch out, because the explanation is ludricous. They should simply take the money on the same date each month. Anyone registering on the last day of the month makes a payment on the last day of every month. All this moving one day forward each month is rubbish and bad commercially, as they could lose customers.
