A question about : Euro cheque to Sterling
I have been sent a cheque sent by a family member for a few hundred Euros. What is the best way to turn this into pounds?
I assume if I go into a high street bank and pay it in to a normal savings account, I'll be hit by high charges? If so, is there anything else I can do, given it's a cheque and not cash?

- This is a long time after your post but I have just had the same experience and can tell you the result - I paid a Euro cheque into my account (401.18 Euro) 3 weeks ago and today received Ј250.18. They had charged me Ј70.- for the exchange and then the bank will apply another Ј7.- charge just to top it up! So I would suggest finding another way to do it or have it done directly to your bank account by transfer.
