epilators in hand luggage??

A question about : epilators in hand luggage??

Has anyone successfully taken an epilator through airport security?? I don't want to risk it being confiscated but would quite like to take my new purchase out to our holiday home. Any thoughts please??

• I take my shaver in my hand luggage - google tells me that an epilator (never heard of one sorry ) is similar
• Not an epilator, granted, but I took a Halogen Oven in my hand-luggage once. The only thing I got was at one of the scanners/checkers (UK end) wanted me to empty my bag to show them that it wasn't a bomb - we guessed it was because of the wires, and timer dial!
