A question about : Dreams Beds Credit Voucher

I ordered and paid a deposit for a mattress from Dreams in a local shop branch. They called me when it was ready to be delivered to arrange a date.

Just after this, though, I lost my flat and needed to move back in with my parents. This means I dont need the mattress and have nowhere to store it!!

However, when I called Dreams they would only offer me a 6 month credit voucher. After 6 months if I don't buy something else I will lose the Ј350 that I have paid. The trouble is that I no longer need this mattress as I can't afford to get my own place right now but I obviously don't want to lose my money.

What should I do? They said the cancellation period was within 24hours which I feel is a bit ridiculous...

Any ideas how to argue my money back?

Best answers:

  • They had no need to give you anything really so unless you can talk them into giving you a refund I suggest seeing if your parents want a new mattress
  • if they delivered do you have a number of days to return and get refund if you changed your mind??
  • I understand that Sweep9 but was thinking do they have there own cooling off period if you like, a lot of places do give you 14 days ie Argos, HMV etc etc - I know a matress is a bit different but thought they might.
  • You will not lose all the Ј350,as a last resort you can sell the voucher for less than face value,or offer it at a discount to dreams customers outside the shop......
