A question about : Dreadful service from Harveys Furniture

I am posting this on behalf of my daughter who ordered a 4 piece suite from Harveys furniture in August 2014 and it was promised it would be delivered by October 2014. It was delayed and delayed due to quality control reasons and eventually delivered in December 2014 but the footstool was one without storage so she refused to accept it. She rang after Christmas and they promised it would be delivered in January so she waited in for it but it never turned up - again customer services blamed quality control. She was told the correct piece would be delivered today but based on previous experience she rang and was told it wasn't coming so she went to work and then got a phone call from a delivery driver to say he was on her doorstep and he agreed to leave it with a neighbour. When she got home she found it was again the incorrect design and style.

Phone calls are not acted on, they pass her from pillar to post. I have suggested she write citing sale of goods act as I am sure this cannot be a reasonable service. Has anyone got any other suggestions?

Best answers:

  • Which bit if the sale of goods act are you thinking about?
She's bought an item not a service. Having dealt with Harvey's before their goods are !!!!! and their customer service not much better. She'll be buying again in a year or two.
